Pyramid of Business Development
When my grandparents can get their hands on any food or clothes, they are content with it because it is enough for survival.
During my parent’s generation, survival is no longer an issue. So what they want are quality, long-lasting goods. They can afford it so they demand it.
In my generation, where quality, long-lasting goods are abundant, what my generation want are goods and services provided by companies that shares my values.
I found that I can map that to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Co-incidence? I don’t think so. Fundamentally, business is a trade between 2 human beings, so it must be reconcilable to the famous hierarchy of needs.
So, what do consumers expect from business next? Whichever business that can figure that out today will have a head-start to tomorrow’s market landscape.
